On the evening of May 11 (Beijing Time), in the quarter-final of the 2026 AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup, the Chinese team beat India 3-0 at Suzhou Sports Center Stadium to reach the semi-finals and secure a berth in the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco. They will take on the DPRK on May 14.
In the early morning of May 13 (Beijing Time), the Chinese U-17 men’s football team defeated Qatar 2-0 in the third round of Group B of the 2026 AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Finishing as group runners-up, China advanced to the quarter-finals and qualified for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup, returning to the FIFA U-17 World Cup after 21 years. The team will play host Saudi Arabia on May 15.
To date, the Chinese Women’s National Football Team, Chinese U-20 Women’s National Football Team and Chinese U-17 Women’s National Football Team have secured qualifications for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup respectively.
