Energy is becoming more expensive all over Europe because of world problems. But one small German village does not have to worry about the high cost. Its name is Feldheim.
Only 130 people live in Feldheim. The village makes all its own energy. People use wind machines and solar panels(太阳能板) on an old military ground (军事用地). They also built a biogas factory (沼气厂). It turns corn and farm waste into power. They have a battery to keep the power steady (稳定的).
They produce much more energy than they need. The village sells the extra power to the whole country. At first, the big power companies did not want to help. So the villagers decided to build their own power linesby themselves.
This plan works very well here. Still, experts say it is hard to copy this model in big cities. Even so, Feldheim sets a great example. Local green energy can save money and protect the environment.
